TRANSNATIONAL OPEN TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP 

The Qualifying portion of the tournament will take place Saturday May 21st through Wednesday May 25th. Will consist of 16 rounds – 10 boards per match. SWISS TEAMS format. 

QUALIFIERS

For the 1st time, this OPEN TEAMS EVENT will have two categories. OPEN & A/X. Prior to initiation, all teams will sign up in either one of these two categories, (based on certain parameters and rules established by the tournament director and properly detailed in the tournament’s rule book.

During the qualifying rounds, all teams will play amongst each other OPEN & A/X. SWISS TEAMS FORMAT

The top 8 scores from the OPEN category will advance to play quarter finals. 

The top 4 scores from the A/X category will advance to play semifinals. 

*Note: Teams that qualify to play quarterfinals in the OPEN category, and semifinals in the A/X category, and do not advance to the next stage, will be able to join the second round of the pair’s tournament, with a score that will be determined later by the tournament director.

  • The quarter finals and SF will play two segments of 12 boards per segment. (But this still needs to be confirmed)
  • Finals will be played in two segments of 16 boards per segment. (also to be confirmed by TD. Subject to change)

TRANSNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LADIES  TEAMS

  1. The Qualifying portion of this event will be played all together with the Open Category Qualifying Rounds.
    The 4 Ladies teams with the highest qualifying scores will advance to play the Semifinals and Finals.
  2. The SF stage will be played in two segments of 14 boards per segment.
  3. The FF stage will be played in two segments of 16 boards per segment.

* Note: Teams that do not advance Finals will be able to join the pairs tournament, with a score that will be determined later by the tournament director.
